Q&A section

Frequently asked questions related to the use and deployment of Appfarm AI.

Q: How can I ensure I am in full control of all changes made by Appfarm AI?

There are many ways to stay a bit more in charge of the work being done. First off, you may turn off Auto-run when the agents are working on tasks. This allows you to verify the work done after each task. Secondly, be aware that all changes are bundled "per task". You can see these changes both in the Change history panel, or you can undo them from the undo/redo menu (top-right) as explained here.

As an extra layer of security, Appfarm Create takes snapshots of the whole solution automatically (and you may also take manual snapshots). You can always roll back to one of these snapshots.

Q: The agent keeps making the same mistake. What do I do?

If the agent is running, click the stop icon (bottom right side of the chat input box). Report the error by using the feedback functionality. Try to start a new thread, rephrase your prompt, or go to visual drag & drop.

Q: I have a very large existing app. Is it safe to start building with AI inside this app?

The short answer: Yes, it is safe, but it works better (and consumes fewer credits) on small-to-medium-sized apps. For large apps, we send the current view or action, together with a truncated list of all other application metadata. The AI uses tools to retrieve details about other parts on demand (read more about metadata handling here). However, if the current view is very large, or the app itself is very large, the amount of metadata sent can still be very large, resulting in more credits used and often a slower and degraded output.

What is a small-to-medium-sized app? Everything below the recommended maximum app size.

Q: Can I do R&D in my free solution, and then copy the app to our (paid and shared) enterprise solution?

Yes. You can right-click an app from the "Apps" main menu and copy it to the clipboard, navigate to the enterprise solution, and paste the app in the same apps menu.

Note 1: The data model will not be merged. New object classes will be created by pasting the app. If duplicates are created, you should rename the duplicate and ask AI to replace it in your app.

Note 2: You can only copy apps between solutions that are on the same Appfarm Create version (i.e., they are on the same release channel). Read more about release channels and versioning here.

Q: Is Appfarm AI accessing my data? How is privacy handled?

No. Appfarm AI is only accessing your application metadata, the equivalent of the application code. For example, if you are building a customer portal in Appfarm, only the fact that you have a customer portal (the views, diagrams, name of the object classes, etc.) is sent to the underlying AI APIs that are used, not the data itself.

Q: How does AI credits work? How can I get more? Do they expire?

Read how AI credits work here. Also, see our terms of usearrow-up-right section.

Q: Can I opt out of using Appfarm AI?

Yes. Appfarm AI is opt-in. You may always opt out of using Appfarm AI in Appfarm Create. This can be requested by the customer (the subscription owner).
